The Cervantes Institute is offering university graduates 45 internship scholarships to train in various departments. Candidates have until December 19 to apply.

Successful candidates will intern for an initial duration of 12 months at Cervantes Institute centers in the autonomous community of Madrid. That period can be extended for another 12 months depending on budget availability and following a favorable review from the intern’s manager. Interns will receive 800 Euros a month.

Interns are required to know Spanish, and candidates who are not from a Spanish speaking country must hold a Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) at a minimum level of C1. They must also hold, or have fulfilled the requirements to obtain by the application deadline, a university degree (bachelors degree, doctorate degree, or equivalent degrees on specialized subjects related to the positions being offered, which you can see in the Anexo I section of the announcement published in the official state bulletin.

Interns may not have received the scholarship previously.

The selection process will be carried out in two phases. In the first one, the merits and achievements of candidates will be considered according to the documentation provided by the candidates themselves: the résumé –from which most of the points will be awarded, academic records and knowledge of languages. The ten candidates who earn the most points will be invited to a personal interview.

The deadline to apply is December 19 and applications must be sent to Dirección de Recursos Humanos del Instituto Cervantes. Applications can also be presented at the institute’s general registry located at: Calle Alcalá, 49 (the entrance is on Calle Barquillo, 4, 28014 Madrid).
